Some folks find it helpful to apply a liquid deer-deterrent product on all their new plantings, even deer-resistant plants, to help eradicate the smells associated with being in a nursery with abundant water and fertilizers. One application at the time of planting will usually erase the remaining nursery scent. There are several liquid products available on the market. Ask a Sales Person for products that we carry and recommend. Also available at Barton Springs Nursery is a lightweight protective fencing material used to wrap around plants or drape over plantings. It is 7 feet tall and 100 feet long, made of black plastic mesh, and can easily be cut with household scissors. We carry coated poles in lengths between 2 feet and 8 feet tall to support the fencing. Gardening with a heavy deer population is challenging. We hope we can help you have as beautiful a garden as possible by offering a large selection of plant materials and products to help your garden with deer.
